The Druid Inn was voted CAMRA pub of year for Ceredigion for 2003 and a good selection of fine real ales is always available as well as all the usual drinks from the well stocked bar.
Our extensive menu of home cooked food caters for all tastes and has a range of vegetarian options. Meals may be taken in the bar or in our cosy non-smoking restaurant. We enjoy an excellent reputation for quality food at reasonable prices and you are sure to return once you have sampled our fayre.
Guests will be spoilt for choice of attractions, activities and places to visit. Walking, mountain biking, bird watching, fishing and golf are just a few of the options on offer locally. The nearby (5mins by car) Nant yr Arian forest centre, offers many splendid walks, Red Kite watching and cycling. The Kites may be viewed in very large numbers, especially at feeding time, which is a truly stunning experience, not to be missed! You may even be lucky enough to see a rare albino white Red Kite!.
For mountain bikers there are trails for all levels of experience in spectacular scenery, but don’t take our word for it, this is what Mountain Biking Wales says on its web site “Nant-yr-Arian forest sits high on the mountains just inland from Aberystwyth, and offers stunning high-level wilderness riding. With trails heading out into the epic scenery of the Cambrian Mountains, this is a fantastic area for those who like their riding rugged. Just be prepared for everything from true mountain climbs to river crossings and technical rocky descents.” Check out their web site for more information.
For the less energetic, enjoy a visit to The Silver Mountain Experience, a trip to the beach, fishing in one of the many well stocked lakes and rivers nearby or a ramble in countryside rich in natural and industrial history. Or simply a trip to the shops in Aberystwyth or Machynlleth.
Accommodation, in a cottage next door to the pub, is in newly furnished and decorated twin/double rooms equipped with TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Some of the rooms enjoy magical views across the valley. Price is inclusive of the full British breakfast (if you can eat that much). Secure, covered storage is available for bikes and equipment. Ample car parking is provided. We welcome small groups and families.
Perhaps the main feature of the Druid is the landlord and the locals, who always extend a very warm welcome to visitors and make them feel like they are locals too.
We are open 11.00am till 11.00pm – Sundays 12.00pm -10.30pm all year around.
