What is Pentir Pumlumon?

A voluntary non-profit making group who wish to improve things in North Ceredigion, Pentir Pumlumon is a company limited by guarantee set up by local business people. We have a Board of 10 Directors – none of these receive any money for the time they devote to the group. The group employs two part time Development Officers based at Lisburne Officers Pontrhydygroes. The group includes about 40  local businesses, most of whom are involved in tourism in some way.

What area is covered by Pentir Pumlumon?

The North Ceredigion Uplands, this area is roughly the top ends of Rheidol and Ystwyth Valleys and includes the villages of Capel Bangor, Cwm Rheidol, Goginan, Ponterwyd, Devil’s Bridge, Cwm Ystwyth, Pontrhydygroes, Ysbyty Ystwyth, Ffair Rhos, Pontrhydfendiagaid, Tregaron, Ystrad Meurig, Lledrod, Llanilar, Llanafan and surrounding countryside.

What do we do?

Anything which is achievable and that will benefit the area! We aim to promote and market the area and to develop sustainable economic regeneration in North Ceredigion, which will benefit both tourism businesses and the community. Liasing with community councils and various agencies is also an important part of our work.

Do we have money?

In the current climate funding is a major issue. The group receives no core funding and exists through business activities and project income

How can we help you?

As well as delivering specific projects, Pentir Pumlumon tries to assist with the draw down of funds for groups in the area and advise businesses on the availability of grants. The Development Officers will try to offer advice on funding and signpost you to the right organisations.
