There are few better places for a pleasant drive than around the Pumlumon area of Mid Wales, and we have selected a couple of routes that give you the perfect opportunity to take in the scenery and access some of the areas attractions.
Red Route
This route takes you through the more gentle scenery of the area, and is ideal if you want to see Devils Bridge. From Aberystwyth, take the A4120 to Devils Bridge. Immediately after the Hafod hotel, turn right towards Cwmystwyth This will take you to the Arch, a nice picnic area with walks. Carry on down the hill and take the first right. Take the next right and proceed to the Hafod Church and car park. You can visit the church or enjoy many walks in the Hafod estate . Turn left on leaving the car park and proceed towards Pontrhydygroes. Turn left over the river bridge and climb up to the village. The Miners Arms is on your left. Carry on up and take the right fork towards Llanafan. On your right is the Cwtch cafe for a great choice of cakes. On your left is the water wheel -worth a stop to read some history.
Carry on down to Llanafan to join the B4340. Turn right back to Aberystwyth.
