The Pumlumon (Plynlimon) area is easy to reach by road, rail or coach.

By Road:

From North Wales:
Take the A470 (or coast road) to Dolgellau, then the A487 to Aberystwyth.

From the North:
Follow signs from Chester to Wrexham, then Oswestry, Welshpool and Aberystwyth.

Both routes – go straight to Aberystwyth, or take the A4159 at Bow Street. The Adventurous can drive the Scenic Route from Tal-y-Bont.

From the Midlands:
It is less than a 2 hour drive from the Midlands. From The M54 / A5, follow signs from Shrewsbury to Welshpool then Aberywtwyth.

From the South:
M5 to Birmingham and then as from the Midlands.

From South Wales:
M4 to Carmarthen, A485 to Lampeter, A482 to Aberaeron and take the coast road to Aberystwyth. If desired, take the A485 or A4120 Scenic routes before reaching Aberystwyth.

From Aberystwyth, it is only 10 minutes drive. Alternatively, you can take a more Scenic Route.

By Rail:

Rail links converge on Aberystwyth from all parts of the UK by a combination of Main Line and Local Line connections. Check in advance with your nearest Station. Trainline

By Coach:

Private Coach Services and National Express supply a regular service to the area. Check with your local Depot. Coach services terminate at Aberystwyth. There is also a National Express stop in the village of Ponterwyd.

From Aberystwyth Railway Station, The Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway offers a regular scenic, passenger to Devil’s Bridge. A comprehensive and extensive local bus service, located outside Aberystwyth railway Station provides access to many rural locations in the area. A Taxi rank is also adjacent to the railway Station.
