Ty Mari and Penroc are attractive 17th century cottages in a beautiful village called Cwmystwyth. The village is seventeen miles inland from Aberystwyth along a mountain road. There are excellent walks through the beautiful scenery that surrounds the cottages that includes hilltops, waterfalls, woodland, forests, dams and caves.
Ty Mari sleeps 6 with one double bedroom and two twin rooms as well as a bathroom and separate toilet. Downstairs is open plan with comfortable seating, and a large dining table and window seat. The double glazed picture window offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. There is a well-equipped kitchen area along one wall and a microwave, a washer/dryer and four-drawer freezer are supplied for your convenience. Ty Mari is full of character and is extremely comfortable.
Heating is provided by night storage heaters and convector heaters and the electric flame-effect stove ensures it is warm enough to be cosy even in deep mid-winter.
There is a Smart TV, iPlayer and DVD player with plenty of pre-recorded DVDs to enjoy. A selection of books, puzzles and games are provided as well. The kitchen is well equipped for your stay. The village shop at Pontrhydygroes sells basic essentials while the excellent Spar at Rhayader and Morrisons, Tesco and M&S at Aberystwyth provide a wider range of supplies. Tesco and Asda deliver online orders.
Ty Mari has a lovely detached garden room with stunning views.
Penroc has one twin bedroom and a double bedroom with an adjoining balcony, allowing you to fully appreciate the beautiful view across the valley. Downstairs there is one large room with a well-equipped kitchen area along one wall, a large seating area with double-glazed picture windows and a cosy living area around an attractive stove. The cottage is cosy with underfloor heating downstairs as well as night storage and convector heating. It is extremely comfortable and has been sympathetically refurbished by an interior designer. There is a Smart TV, iPlayer and DVD player with plenty of films for all ages to enjoy. There are books, puzzles and games. The kitchen is well-equipped with all you need for your stay. For larger gatherings the two cottages can both be rented together and an internal connecting door opened. There are then large living and dining areas along with two bathrooms and five double/twin bedrooms in addition to the garden room. Sheets and towels are provided for those staying in Penroc.
